Web Hosting Provider ReadySpace Increases Offerings with Move to Equinix Singapore Data Center
Singapore — February 7, 2005 — Equinix, Inc. (Nasdaq: EQIX), the leading provider of network-neutral data centres and Internet exchange services, today announced that ReadySpace Network Pte Ltd, a Singapore-based Web hosting firm, will deploy the company's IT operations within Equinix's Singapore Internet Business Exchange™ (IBX®) centre.
ReadySpace, one of the fastest growing Web hosting companies in Singapore, offers a range of hosting services to more than 1,000 micro to medium-sized companies in Asia Pacific. The company has a very low threshold for outages and downtime, as even a small outage can affect a significant number of customers. As a result, ReadySpace requires a network and data center infrastructure that ensures the highest levels of performance and uptime.
By locating within Equinix's Singapore IBX, ReadySpace will implement a high-performance IT infrastructure that leverages the aggregation of networks operating in the centre, as well as the industry-leading security, environmental and physical infrastructure of the IBX. The close proximity and direct connectivity to key networking partners within the same physical location, as opposed to connecting to multiple, disparate locations and across great distances, will enable ReadySpace to streamline its network connectivity and greatly reduce intermediate transit. It will also enable ReadySpace to deliver fault-resistant Web hosting services to a new market of customers, including colocation, dedicated servers and managed services.
ReadySpace will also utilize Equinix's Smart Hands onsite 24x7 services to improve response time for customer requests or server problems. This will enable ReadySpace to reduce manpower costs while providing their customers with trained professionals who can respond instantaneously and appropriately.
As a part of operating within a hub of other Internet companies, ReadySpace will also benefit from the business synergies and proximity to strategic partners at the IBX. Equinix Singapore will refer customers seeking Web applications services or smaller hosting capacities to ReadySpace while providing enterprise level support to attract higher quality customers.
"Due to the success of our services, we were in need of high-performance and high-availability bandwidth options as well as a robust physical infrastructure that can scale to accommodate our growing demand for additional data centre space," said Mr. David Loke, General Manager of ReadySpace. "By deploying into Equinix's Singapore centre, ReadySpace can differentiate itself from other Web hosting providers by offering higher levels of uptime, as well as service level agreements for temperature, humidity and power which are not common in the IDC (Internet Data Center) market."
"Equinix is the leading neutral co-location player with more than 300 ISPs, carriers, content companies and enterprises worldwide," said Mr. Lee Yoong Kin, Country Manager of Equinix Singapore. "As the Web hosting industry evolves with more demands for advance platforms and applications, ReadySpace is well positioned to offer its customers with a world-class quality data centre offering powered by Equinix."
